The Condominium Act

The Condominium Act, 1998 is an Ontario law that relates specifically to condominiums. The Condo Act (as it is known) was passed in 1998, and has undergone several major changes since then.

In 2015, the Protecting Condominium Owners Act was passed, which amended a large portion of the Condo Act. At the same time, the Condominium Management Services Act was also passed, which regulates condominium management in Ontario.

The Condo Act is accompanied by several regulations: O.Reg 48/01O.Reg 49/01, and O.Reg 377/17 have other rules and regulations related to condominiums in Ontario.
